Who I Am

I'm Asher Wycoff (he/him), a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Graduate Center, CUNY. I live in Brooklyn with my husband and two cats. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar (badly) and drawing cartoons (worsely). Sometimes I do that second thing for the department newsletter, so I can pretend it's work.

What I Do

Research:  My concentration is modern political theory, chiefly English and German. I'm especially interested in the intersection of theology and politics. My dissertation traces readings of revolution as apocalypse through the modern liberal tradition. I keep an inconsistently updated blog about my process/progress here.

Teaching:  I float around the CUNY system on a contingent basis. I'm currently on contract at Lehman College, where I teach introductory courses in political theory and comparative politics. Previously, I taught core and methodology courses at Brooklyn College.
